Dr. SUNIL BOSE

A Humble Tribute to Dr. Sunil Bose, Former Director, CRRI

I remeber the Day 10th July 2019. The very first workshop after publication of IRC:37-2018 was conducted on this day at Chandigarh by Civil Engineers Acamdemy And research Center (CEA&RC), a regiseterd society for the cause of Civil Engineering in association with General Highways And Infracon Pvt Ltd (GHAI.PL).

Dr. Sunil Bose and Er. Bidhur Kant Jha explained this code to a distinguished gathering of about 250 engineers. Sharing the video and glimplises of that workshop as a tribute to Dr Sunil Bose. He was a founder member and active participant of Highway Information Group (HIG) on Whatsapp.

May his soul rest in peace. His contribution to pavement engineering and his spirit of selfless service will always be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.

Dr Sunil Bose

Dr. Bose has retired as Deputy Director and Head, Flexible Pavements Division of CRRI in 2011. He studied in IIT Kharagpur and completed his B.Tech., M.Tech and PhD (Civil Engg) from there. He has published more than 150 papers in national and international journals (Transportation Research Board, International Journal of pavement Engineering, USA ASCE and others). He was awarded Bihar Medal for best research papers and Jawahar Lal Nehru Award and 4 other awards for his significant contribution in the field of Highway Engineering. He is a member of Flexible Pavement Committee H2 and H9 of IRC and has contributed in the preparation of a number of Codes and Specifications, and a member of the National Panel of Experts constituted by the Ministry of Surface Transport. He is Advisor to a number of renowned infrastructure developers.
